USD names new Chair of nursing dept

VERMILLION, SD - The University of South Dakota has named Carla Dieter as the new chair of the Department of Nursing.

Dieter was previously the interim chair. She is an associate professor for the USD Department of Nursing. She has been the director of Nursing Education Scholarship at USD since 2010.

Prior to USD, she served in various undergraduate and graduate positions at the South Dakota State University College of Nursing.

School of Health Sciences Interim Dean Barbara Brockevelt said Dieter's vast experience will provide the department with the leadership needed to grow the program and provide new opportunities for students.
