Students wishing to study nursing will soon have a new option when choosing a school.

Nashville State Community College has just been approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing to offer an associate degree in nursing.

Fifty students will be admitted into the two-year program next fall.

The program will help battle a national nursing shortage that is expected to reach more than 260,000 in the next 15 years.
