    Philippines: Nursing exam retake pushed

August 20, 2006: Philippines: Nursing exam retake pushed:"Various groups are strongly urging the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board of Nursing to conduct new licensure examinations in the wake of allegations that the last one in June was marred by cheating. They particularly want a retake of the two parts of the test that were allegedly leaked to examinees. Fely Marilyn Lorenzo, executive director of the University of the Philippines' Institute of Health and Policy and Development (IHPD), said the results of tests 3 and 5 of the exams must be nullified."

It would seem like our NCLEX in America has at least a few advantages. With each exam randomized, it's awfully hard to cheat.

Unhappy Re: Philippines: Nursing exam retake pushed

Maybe I am just old fashioned in my thinking but if you have to cheat to pass your nursing boards I would not want you taking care of me, a family member, a friend or anyone else

And since there is no way to find out who cheated and who didn't, I'd retest everyone. It's the only way to be sure the ones passing didn't have access to the leaked information.

So are you suggesting that the cheaters who bought the exam beforehand be allowed to get away with it?

I am all for the re-take; why not? If you have nothing to hide, there shouldn't be any problems, riiiight?
