How is New Orleans looking these days?

Hi all,

Does anyone know how the hospital operations and staffing are looking for New Orleans these days? I was planning to go there right before Katrina struck and I've heard such horror stories about rough work conditions over the last year that I've continued to delay my trip. What's the word from down that way?

Its gotten better from July 2006 to Nov 2006, however housing is still scarce and if you are a traveler they are keeping you in Hotels instead of Apartments.
