Hey! Just joined and thought I'd drop in and say hello. My name is Kevin and I'm an LPN in Pensacola, FL. Trying to finish up my prereqs so I can finish up with my RN. Anyway.....just saying Hello!

Hi Kevin!

Will you be going to a college there in Pensacola for your degree or are you going to do the online LPN to RN? Welcome to the nursing forums!

Thanks all for the welcome!!

I'm not completely sure where I will be going to finish. I've got three options really. Pensacola Jr College, Jefferson-Davis(about an hour from here in AL), and Gulf Coast Community College (about 2hrs from here in Panama City) all have LPN-RN mobility programs. PJC is not NLN accredited, although I've learned around here that is not really important until you go to BSN. GCCC has a weekend LPN-RN program that lasts two semesters. That sounds promising since I have to work at the same time. Just weighing options right now.

G'Day Kevin. Welcome aboard. As a nurse you will have many opportunities that you otherwise might not have in another profession. Being a RN has given me the opportunity to work overseas. I worked in Australia back in 1999 and I am moving back there at the end of the year. I am going back to Mount Hospital in Perth Western Australia. This by far was one of my best experiences as a nurse. I am really looking forward to going back and catching up with my mates. Cheers :)
