12m deficit forces closure of 170 beds
Morriston hospitals as a first phase of the bed closure programme, though there are no planned redundancies among nursing staff. A total of 300,000 of the 1.2m saved as a result of the move will be ploughed back into Swansea NHS Trust's nursing budget.
