Hello.....I am starting nursing school in August and since I am hard of hearing I need a stethoscope that will help me hear really well. Can you please suggest what type/brand that I should get? Thank you!

You can try:

Philips Agilent:"Philips Agilent has taken advantage of today's most advanced microelectronic technology to redefine a fundamental tool of diagnosis, dramatically expanding the threshold of clinical auscultation. Formerly known as the Hewlett-Packard HP Stethos , the new and improved Philips Electronic Stethoscope offers features that improve ease of use and patient care."

Do a search for "amplified stethoscopes" on http://www.google.com for lots more.

Depends on how hard of hearing you are. I wear hearing aids, so I bought an electronic stethoscope with headphones from www.cardionics.com (so that I don't have to take my hearing aids out). I believe Keith Johnson is the president of the company and he will answer any questions you have. You can also get electronic in-the-ear stethoscopes as well from cardionics. However, they are very expensive. www.allheart.com has a bunch of electronic in-the-ear stethoscopes and they are the cheapest. The more amplification levels the stethoscope, the better.
