October 26, 2004: Australia: Nurse makes more cleaning:"ISABEL Guedeney earns more from plumping cushions and sprucing up four-bedroom houses in leafy Melbourne suburbs than she does making sure elderly people are comfortable and content.
Ms Guedeney gets paid only $14.45 an hour to care for nursing home residents with dementia but can charge $22 an hour when she works as a house cleaner wiping benchtops in designer kitchens."

Huh, wonder if I'd make more money fixing broken computers, installing hard drives, modems and cleaning up computer virus infections . . . .

darn and after 3pm at my hospital housekeepers don't come to labor and delivery so guess who cleans the rooms...including mopping floors ME the nurse (and the other nurses and CST's working L&D which can be a BI..H when we're busy delivering babies that mop gets in the way.
