Good luck in salvaging your career!
Hi everyone I have been an LVN since 2001 and an RN since 2003. I have been suffering from "job burnout" and I have gone from Peds acute to sub-acute to Med-Surg, and I am currently applying to a laser hair removal clinic and private peds office to try to salvage my career. I came here to see if other nurses are going trough the same things, although I hope not, I hope you all love your jobs.

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I hope that a break is all that you need to recharge. Best of luck:luck:
Hi, Cali RN:
I understand and sympathize. However, you are right to try to find something outside the hospital setting to try to salvage your career. Nursing is one of the few professions where that can be done -- there are SO many different areas to work in! What about being a school nurse? Or working as an assistant to the coroner? It's amazing what you can find when you look around.
Best of luck ... take care ....

Update:::
I took some advice and went outside of the Hospital area to try to salvage my career. First I worked for Kindred in Med-Surg and hated it, I left after two days. Then I worked as a perioperative nurse in Beverly Hills for a cosmetic surgeon, I hated the surgeons and anesthesiologists because they were rude and arrogant, so I left after two weeks, but I really enjoyed the work. Then I found a part-time job in an adult daycare facility and I really really enjoy it, I've been working there 2 days of the week for a five weeks now ($25/hr). I am also working at a laser hair removal spa in Beverly hills 3 days a week and I am enjoying it too ($45/hr). I think I managed to save my career and I am so glad.
Glad to hear you've found something you like.
