I like the second one you posted. It is straight forward, simple, yet appropriate. In some of the earlier pictures the pins had Nurses Caps. Not even female nurses wear caps anymore...so those got to go. They are dated and no longer appropriate for males or females.

What about something that says "RN" or has a caduceus on it? As long as it's not in pastel or other girly colors. Use more masculine colors, like red, blue, green, or black.

I have a large caduceus tattooed on my right shoulder, from my old Corpsman days
