This is the best month ever, second to December, to me. It's my birthday month and it is on Tuesday. Hehe

I am up early and thought I would start the thread today. Cougar how are you?

It is church for me today. Thinking about going out to eat afterwards.

Do you usually eat in or out on the weekend?

Work is going pretty well. I am getting, once again, used to the 5-days [/hrs] work week. Said I would never work 5 days again. It goes to should one to never say never.

Hope all is doing well.

Hi, MICU! What a surprise to find the Thread started already. I am doing fine at present; woke up to a cool morning....at last!

Have to miss church today. Haven't really been feeling well; hate to complain, but my stomach has been acting up. May be the start of a cold.....we'll see.

As for breakfast, the first Sunday of every month, my DH and I go to the Moose for their monthly breakfast. Well, it would depend on how I'd work...he'd go all the time, as he has a meeting right afterward.

I take it you are off on weekends, eh?

:D

Yes, I am off every weekend since becoming CN. I replied on Saturday's thread. I am off to eat and will see you later. I do hope you get to feeling better, Cougar.

Take care of yourself.

Thanks for your kind wishes, MICU! Need to get labwork done ASAP. :p Unforunately, have a few glitches, but.......

Nothing but rain here. We need it badly, but the ground had been so dry, there is the possibility of flooding. Sure beats snow anytime!

Well, all......hope you all have a great night. If you are working, hope the shift goes well.

A bit THANKS and hugs to MICU for starting the thread this morning. Hope more of you drop by in the future.

TTYL, all!

You are welcome, Cougar. Let us know how you are doing when you can. We need some more rain, too. It did rain a little on Thursday. I read just before coming on that Jamacia has a strom and the US is sure to get some of it's bad weather. I hope rain is all we get.

Dogluvr, thanks. What kind of dogs do you like? Chows is one breed I like.

Cass, how are you and your family doing? You are still in my prayers.

Isn't "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" funny! I have several of Perry's work on CD. What else have you seen or plan on seeing. I think the funniest of he cast is "Mr. Brown. Have you seen, "Meet The Brown's"?

Hi, we're doing pretty ok....mom is going to start teaching English as a 2nd language at the college (she's been retired for 9 years) she's involved in lots of "stuff" so was dad (guess that's why I keep doing more stuff I come by it naturally) all of the crazy relatives have gone...except my older brother he's going to move back in with mom for about 6 months then move to Vegas with this new businss plan he has...just hope he doesn't drive her nuts because he is a bit high strung and does drive me nuts. We still have cards to write and things to do. There were over 360 people at visitation an overflow room for the service and 100 at the cemetary so you can imagine the flowers and food people sent along with having to change things at banks, car liscens branch, airline tickets (parents had trip planned for Sept)..just bunches of "stuff" to do.

I'd seen Diary of a Mad Black Woman several times before. I lve Media. I have a book on tape called Don't make a black woman take off her earring very funny. It is a book you can read but on tape it's Tyler Perry reading it just giving life advice... (how to keep your marriage exciting like Media dressing like a prostitue and standing on the corner and her husband "picking her up" and having to pay $30)

Glad to hear things are going as well as they can during these times. Yes, I remember my mom having to do the same kinds of things when my dad died in 2005.

It gets a little better, or so it seems, minute by minute. My younger brother stays with my mom as often as he can. For me, I really don't like going around mom because I tend to tear up just because dad is not there or something reminds me off him. Well, although our path brought us similarities, the two in feelings and thoughts are different.

Just want to let you know I am here if ever you need to vent, cry, or laugh while you continue the process of dealing with the death of your dad.

{{{{{{hugs}}}}}?

I will see if I can find "Don't make a black woman take off her earring" before the week has passed and let you know what I think of it.

It is good to talk with you, Cass. Hang in there.
