in my hospital we keep them 1:1 until after they are stable post-extubation, usually, night shift is different of course, but during the day they are 1:1 till appropriate to double up on the rn.
I am doing some research for my unit regarding fresh post-op hearts and
was wondering if it was common practice to keep them one on one for the first four to six hours post-op or until they are stable. We currently do not follow this practice. Any research or data to support this practice would be
appreciated!
