    Travel Postions for Cna's

    I was wondering if there are travel assignments for cna? I have found sites for rn and lpns, but not cna's. I am looking for 13 week assignments like in washington state, alabama, kentucky, tennessee.. If anyone has any help let me know

    I've never seen any and I'd bet there aren't any.

    There are quite a few actually. I've been working as a traveling CNA for about 4 yrs now. You just have to search and ask questions. :4:

    Are you talking about traveling or agency?- there's a big difference. I have not seen any travel companies that employ CNA's, but have seen tons of nursing agencies that hire CNA's.

    I've worked for both over the years. I've never optioned to travel further than 7 hrs from home, because of my family,but I have had the option to go as a CNA to Hawaii, Vermont, Washington, etc. Most of them don't advertise CNA hire... you have to ask.

    What companies have you traveled with as a CNA? Do they give you housing and other benefits like the RN/LPN travel companies?

    I'm not going to give out the name of the company I work for now. They're fairly small and I'd like to keep my hours.:18:

    Though some others would be;

    Medical Staffing Network & InteliStaf Travel
    Healthcare Staffing Network (I haven't checked them out but I know someone who works for them)
    Maxim
    and there are others. If a person wants to work travel they just have to be willing to search and do their homework.

    The travel company I work for pays a CNA for the same things the RN/LPN's get. It's travel work... just because CNA's are doing the traveling doesn't mean we get any less (other than wage of course).
    For instance if I were to go to Hawaii for a 13 week contract I would get;

    paid flight to and from
    paid housing
    paid rental car
    per diem weekly
    hourly wage for hours worked
    maybe a bonus
    and benefits that apply

    If I work closer to home per diem or contract I get;

    mileage or a per diem for every 8 hr shift I work
    paid housing & sometimes meals
    hourly wage for hours worked
    maybe a bonus (it all depends of the facility)

    Usually the CNA jobs aren't jumping out at you like the RN/LPN jobs. You have to dig in the site a little bit to find it, or you have to go by word of mouth. :4:

    Mr. Vazuez,
    Thank goodness you posted a reply to HECA...
    Interested in becoming a "traveling" CNA immediately! I've been in the field for over 20 years and am looking to relocate and reside in a new city. Please expect to receive additional communication from me via phone and your email.

    Way to HECA! Standing up for all the CNA's!
    I would love to become a traveling CNA, just like you! I will be following up on your leads that you posted, however, is there anything or anyone else we can contact?

    thank you so much for that information. it is very difficult to find cna traveling positions. i have been wanting to travel too and the positions that most agency employ are only RN's and LPN. we as CNA's are also an important part of the medical field too.
