It all depends on the policy of the places where you work! I personally don't understand the appeal of tattoos but have no problem if others want them. I think in some circles it's preceived as not very professional. The facility where I work makes people cover them with bandaids "like that looks any better. One of my co-worker's wears those golf sleeves at work to cover his. A good nurse is a good nirse tattooed or not, but do be prepared to have any educational organizations to require you cover them!

    Good luck to you

I work at an inner city ER in Baltimore, and a lot of the male RN's have Tattoos. One agency nurse has a sleeve that extends to his neck. It all depends on what city you work in. If you're in Springfield Il it'll be a problem. If you're in Baltimore, we're all dodging gun shots so no one cares

I have a couple of OR techs who were in the Sandbox, they have
USMC and Navy tattoos, and no one seems to mind them one bit.
Of course, I am in CA and things are a bit looser here in that regard. Have one young female tech who has a guns and roses
tat on her arm, and that seems to raise some eyebrows. No, we
don't require them to be covered (can't in the OR) but I personally draw the line at obscenities. Can't say that i have
seen any of the docs with tats, but you never know. When i was
in medic school my buddy got a black cadeus tattooed on his arm,
funny thing was that he was black, and you couldn't see it, he
just said the wanted it, and his mom would kill him if she saw
    it, hence the color.

Just watched 'Down Periscope', and had to chuckle.

    One day, we'll all sag.

I don't see anything wrong with it, but maybe the patient may be uncomfortable having a nurse with tattoos. I have a small one on my shoulder, but you can only see it when I go swimming.
