Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I have been a LPN for almost 2 years now and I really love being a nurse, even though it has days where I wonder what was I thinking becoming a nurse. The nursing shortage is awful, where I work we have already started to have agency nurses come in and fill the holes we have because we ( the perm. staff) have pulled so many extra hours we are just plain wore out. Oh! I work at a nursing home that deals with long term care on one wing and rehab. patients on the other. I have thought about going back and getting my RN online but just kinda weary about learning that way. If anyone has any advice or suggestions please let me know.

Welcome, lilmiss! Nice to have you with us.

I hear ya about the short staffing. I do LTC also, but know shortstaffing is hitting all over. I love LTC, and couldn't think of working anywhere else.

You mentioned taking courses on-line; are you far away from a traditional school?
