    just getting started

Hello, I am a nursing student getting ready to graduate and take the NCLEX in May. Can anyone tell me what I need to do or they recommend before I try being a traveler? My other question is because I have 2 kids and would like to only travel 1 weekend a month is it better to travel to the same place every time because I'll only be there 3 or 4 days at a stretch or would branching out be benificial? Thank you very much for your time. :33:

    Welcome!

Before you begin to consider traveling, you'll need to have at LEAST 1-2 years of experience as an RN. Also, most travel contracts are for 13 weeks, working 36 hours/week. The shortest contract I've ever seen was for 4-8 weeks. You might be able to work per diem one weekend a month, but then you will be responsible for your own travel expenses & your own housing. I do not think you will be able to find a travel contract working somewhere only 1 weekend a month....
