She was great and she teaches you exactly what you need to pass the exam. I worked in a Neuro ICU for 2 yrs and then bought her DVD set. I passed the first time and It only took me half the time they say it will.
I have been working in an ICU for almost a year now. I work each day with many nurses that are CCRN's. None used Laura Gasparis "Critical Care Examination Review". I attended a 2 day CCRN review she put on. She is very inspirational. Any adivice on what I should be using to study?

Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio know's her stuff. I'd drop the money in a heartbeat. You can order a catalog or view her programs here:

I studied the Core Curriculum then used her book as a 'post practice test' to see how well I learned from the Core Curriculum. It gave me confidence in what I learned, and areas I had to improve on. Passed the CCRN exam without a problem.
i've also been to one of her conferences-histerical lady-very motivating- thought it would be a bore but she kept me laughing and i feel i learned quite a bit too. Have not purchase her book or dvd set, but have done a lot of self study with other references - dale dubin's rapid interpretation of ekgs - is one of the best out there. Also made a lot of flash cards with rythms strips - very helpful! Bought a few other reference books but most are a too dry and informative to really get into.
Hi folks,
I vote for Laura. I never took her course but listened to a tape series from one of her classes. Not only was it information packed and very well organized, it was one of the most entertaining things I ever heard. You can listen to it repeatedly and get something new each time along with a good laugh. She is extremely funny and you need all of the humor you can get when preparing for the CCRN. Good luck.

I used her tapes and book 12 years ago and passed it the first time with only 2 years ICU experience that time. Good luck.
I'm taking the CCRN exam this Saturday... in Baghdad, Iraq. I've viewed the 6 disc DVD CCRN Review Course several times, as well as studied via the Critical Care Examination Review book. I would have liked to studied more before this Saturday but I am at war, LOL.
Wish me much success this Saturday!

Good luck, and let us know how it went.....
It was not what I expected but in all fairness maybe my head was still spinning from the travel up via helicopter, bus, and C-130, LOL.
Laura's DVDs' and book was helpful. Yet, maybe a little dated. FYI, those preparing for the exam, KNOW your cardiac meds!
I will get the results in 6-8 weeks.
