LVN's not in unions and RN's are in California?

Is it true that in California the RN's are in the union but the LVN's aren't? I don't understand this. Can some one explain?

#1. Which union are you speaking of? There are several in the state of California.

#2. Could simply be that the LVNs did not want union representation. Happens frequently. An e-mail to the union in question should get you a detailed response.
