Just found this board the other day. Will be lurking from time to time. Hope I can contribute. Anybody know how to upload an avatar?

Welcome, feel free to hang around and browse, lurk and/or put your two cents in

Avatars/Graemlins, how to upload to your computer? You can use the "save picture as" function to save to your computer if that's what you mean.

Thanks Humor, I just might do that. I already have the avatar ready to upload but the site won't accept it. I get a bunch of warning messages. I think the problem is on the forum's end. In addition, I can't get my signature accepted. It says I have used too many lines. Oh well . . .

Back at ya, Steve. BTW. . .Aaron said that the forum software is getting an upgrade soon. We should be able to upload avatars and pix then. Said by the end of the week. Is he going to have to close down the site? Anyone?

gonna be a couple more days. Should be ZERO downtime. Nothing will change as far as login/password stuff, it'll just look/function a little different...

another new guy here, 19 years old, i'm a phlebotomist starting nursing school this fall. Little bit scared, but also very excited.

What's an avatar-I'm computer ignorant.
I'm a psych nurse- state hospital psych nurse in PA.
Don't have much computer access.
That sucks.
State Hospital has computers,but web browser not installed.
That also sucks.
I'm an RN who cracked the mold in Nursing School.
I get to wear shorts and a T-shirt to work.
Can wear whatever foot gear I want.
Can wear a hat,too.
Now that doesn't suck!

Hi psych-o welcome to the forums.

An avatar is the little picture to the left of the post. You can use one of the stock avatars or you can upload one from your computer or a URL. However the latter two options are inoperable at this time.

If you go to some other nursing related forums, you actually have to pay the forum owner a yealy membership fee so he will supply you with the little bit of bandwidth needed to have an avatar. I have been on several forums and have never heard of such a thing. The amazing thing is that he has actually suckered people into this scam. Then he brags how many extra servers he has purchaced with this scam money.

Hi Nursedude welcome to the forums. You're just up the way from me. Usually when my wife and I go riding, we'll stop at Boonies before we head south. You live up in Wellington?
