Good morning, everyone! Of course, it's Wednesday; middle of the week, Hump Day......whatever you'd like to call it.

So, what are you all up to today?

Cut and paste, 'Manda.....cut and paste. I tend to left-click, hold and scroll backwards to highlight what I want to "cut"; then, use the edit button up on the left hand corner for the cut or copy feature. Depends on what the heck I'm cutting or copying.

Alright, Cary! Thanks for the coffee.....and the flower is a great touch, too. Don't make me wonder what the heck you're planning now.....

Yeah, I'm actually usually pretty good with computers- better than a lot of people, I know how to cut and paste, it just won't work for me....

For example, if I cut and paste a picture of a drink here for you, this is what I get:

martini

I know, I know! Thanks anyhow; keeps my mind from the chronic ache I presently have. Doesn't help that we had a downpour here, either. The old cracked rib was singing pretty off-key.

'Manda, I have NO idea what to tell you. Guess the best bet is I'd have to show ya how to do that in person. :33:

BTW Cat, me left shoulder don't feel too good, either. I go back to my Orthopod tomorrow morning.

LOL, I removed the dressing. The area was a little swollen & a little inflamed but not warm to touch. I gently cleaned peripherally around the site. Then, all of the sudden serosanguinous fluid shot out like a high pressure water fountain onto the bathroom wall. I pressed down around the opening and a thick, long, white substance came out. Looked like a catapillar. BTW, no odor at site or from the drainage.

I had already prepared for a clean dressing change; bottle of saline, betadine swab, and hypafix tape. After the drainage slowed to just trickle I flushed the area with saline. Dabbed dry with sterile 4x4's. Applied betadine, then covered with folded fluff & hypafix tape.

Called my wife at work so she can find if my Orthopod is on call. If, I'd had a sterile specimen container, or culturettes I would have collected from the drainage and taken to MAMC ER. I'm concerned the surgical site needs to be reopened & flushed out, i.e. I&D with abx in pulse lavage. Too many days post-op [11 JUL] for drainage, especially with a white catapillar crawling out of the wound!

Wife just called. She got a hold of my specific Orthopod and he wants me to come to his clinic... NOW.

bye-bye

And quite a few more where this came from. Or, if you prefer, I can give you: :p

Mind you, being the Wound Care nurse never bothered me, but the thought of the white stuff grossed me out. Guess I'd have to see it to judge it. My ever-touchy gut is twirling.

Keep me posted.

NPO p MN... I'm going in tomorrow morning as an add-on for the OR; EUA/I&D L Shoulder. I met my Doc at the Ortho clinic. He aspirated some fluid to send down to lab for Cxs. Then, he put in an order for some bld lab work. Instead of going to the ER I went to where my wife work's and she drew my labs. It was great doing all that w/o having to go thru the ER.

LOL, I told my Doc I hope to go home after the surgery, rather than spend the night. He told me maybe not depends on what they find and I might need several surgeries.
