I totaly agree with you my friend, my wife just started Nursing School and she was one of only 25 people to be accepted out of 200-ish applicants.
The reason?
Not enough Instructors. This is a BLACK-EYE for those who choose to teach.
If we can't offer the pay the instructors won't come. That is a plain and simple fact. If you get more for passing pills than for passing knowledge it's a no-brainer.:confused:
It all boils down to the fact that everyone (IE: government officials) are screaming for more of us (IE: nurses) in the workforce but no-one is offering to pay (competitive wages) for more instructors.
The fact that I make more as an LPN than I did as a teacher tells alot about our willingness to pay those who are providing us with the ability to earn a better living than they themselves enjoy.
IF WE WANT MORE NURSES WE HAVE TO PAY THE INSTRUCTORS A BETTER WAGE TO DRAW THEM INTO THE TEACHING CIRCLE.:33:
