OK I'm first today it's 1:10 am here....why am I up???? I took a pretty long nap in the early evening. I'd gotten up and walked the dog a good distance then delivered some Avon stuff then walked the dog to the groomer about 10 blocks round trip....I have to get better shoes my heel just kills me really more after I've rested it a while. Today there is a library book sale my mom asked if I wanted to go with her (which could take all day) I love to go but I have so many books I haven't read yet but like to get more. Mom needs to downsize her library. Tomorrow afternoon have a Masonic fishfry then Sunday a church social with dinner (those are big around here lots of Catholic churches and all of them have a summer social)
Anybody watch the Olympic opening? I had it on while my son and I played UKopoly (Univ of KY monopoly) we were finishing one game when I won and he had a fit so we had to play again so he won...I did spend my money quickly so I'd be broke faster :)
I didn't go to the book sale. I got up too early boy woke up and slammed his door as he went to the bathroom then slammed the bathroom door on the way in then slammed on the way out then the bedroom again the out again to the living room so I wass up just after 7 :(
Mom had a used book store for a couple of years after she retired so she has all of those books and just keeps getting more I really don't need to buy any just go to her house...and I live 2 blocks from the library. I told mom if she finds any books on tape to get me some since I drive 60 miles on work days...she has 10 for me on her kitchen table she got at a garage sale this week but I couldn't pick them up yesterday when I was walking the dog.
DH just got up the slamming didn't bother him so maybe I'll take a nap before the fish fry.
Good Morning Cass & Cat!
Wow, a celebration of life party in memory of your father-in-law. That is kind of cool. Reminds me of joyous funeral parades in Louisiana I've seen on TV.
I got into reading murder mystery type novels while in Iraq. IMHO, used book stores are great. BTW Cass, why all the door slammimg? Is your son a teenager? LOL, I don't miss those days. Sorry about the laugh. More like relief on my part.
The door slammer is 9 (my other kids are 22, 23 and 25) It's just a habit we always leave the bedroom and bathroom doors closed and my house was built in the 20's and the doors don't close well unless you really shut them hard and I don't let the dog in those rooms and she can open the doors if not pulled to so he was just following directions to keep those doors shut...for once he listens :)
Went to the fish fry and ate too much....brought a bunch home too because my brothers are masons and they had alot left (my 22 yr old called and told me to get him some that he could pick up tomorrow the 25 yr old came with her husband and 3 kids) Then I went over to moms and she'd picked me up 30 books on tape from the sale along with 10 she'd gotten earlier in the week new from a truck stop she'd happened to stop in that was clearing them out so I should be good for awhile severl of them had 14 tapes (the libraries are going to CD) I MIGHT go to the sale tomorrow you can get a big library bag for $6 and fill it up...Like I need more. Our local library will have a sale in Sept I could probably wait :)
Watching Olympic swimming with the 9 yr old now he's loving the Olympics he's trying to figure out what he could do in the games and wonders if they will have dodge ball by the time he's old enough.
Dodge ball in the Olympics? Maybe 'dodge the discus'. :p Honestly, some of those people start training waaay too young; look at the ice skaters. They literally live at the rink. I'm sure the cost is pretty steep for a brief crack at glory.
I am tired. Had a wild day, and had thought of crashing earlier, but then would be up around midnight. Am gonna give it a few more minutes, then trundle off. Till tomorrow, all!
