Ok so I have a question. My contract at the hospital I'm at is almost over (Thank God) and I've been planning on moving on. I had told my recruiter I wanted to maybe go to the Bay area and he submitted me to a couple of place, got me an interview and accepted me for the position. I have not signed the contract yet but am having second thoughts about the contract now. I went to go look at housing and I knew it would be expensive but not how much more expensive than I'm paying in Sac right now. Also I have a bit of a family thing going on at home which might require trips home and if I'm making less money, paying more rent etc then I may not have the money to go home as needed. Does anyone know what happens if I decide not to sign the contract/take the position at this point???
question about new contracts Help please
Since you haven't yet signed the contract, you haven't yet legally bound yourself to anything. Just call your agency and tell them you changed our mind, they might get mad at you and you might want to find another agency if they do, but there's no legal precedent they can use against you. and if its a good company and a good recruiter, then they'll understand and start immediately looking for a contract for you where you need to go.
Thanks for your input. That was pretty much what I figured. Recruiter listened to me but then had his housing guy start looking for me. The housing guy sent me a bunch of links to craigs list, many of which asked for a year lease or said no pets (I travel with my cats). I think he thinks that this will still work out ok. I'm going to start looking into new companies on Tuesday.
