Hope everyone's doing fine today. Took a look at one of the near by rivers yesterday, and it is UP! Saturday, you could barely see where the dam is. Yesterday--WHAT dam? Of course, there are fools who build 'thisclose' to the banks. Most seem to be people who are from the big city. The 'long timers' down here seem to have more sense. :D

So, what's going on with the rest of you?

Slept in late until the phone rang to remind us of MD appt for the 9 yr old tomorrow would have slept longer if the phone didn't ring then DH fixed brunch now just messing on the computer. I called and told them I wouldn't make it to the meeting tonight I really don't feel like getting out. The ear still hurts maybe someday I'll call the doctor I did take some sinus med but doesn't seem to make a difference.

orientation at the new assignment yesterday and today, and the rest of the week.... it's strange, usually I get a day or two of orientation, but at this assignment, I have to sit through an entire WEEK of classroom orientation- BORING! oh well, I'm getting paid... ;)

I know you ER types like being thrown to the lions really quick, but learn to take it easy once in a while, eh? And seeing as you got flooded in IA, plus a car accident.....come on! :p

I am planning on downloading some flood pictures soon.

Hi folks,

I just applied to an ED position. It'll be my first as a nurse. I'm not sure exactly what to expect but I'm very ready for a change.

R maybe soon to be "Red" instead of Ricu- Hmm, has a nice ring

Hi again,

In the late 70's I was an EMT with a busy volunteer rescue squad and consequently, spent a lot of time in the ED. Later, I decided to become a respiratory therapist so, again, spent a lot of time in ED. After fifteen years of that, I went into nursing, telemetry to start and for the last ten or so years, critical care where we have our own brand of emergency medicine but it's not the same. I think I could make the transition fairly easily but, we'll see. So Amanda, the dark side? It sounds like story time...
