Went back to school at 40 to become a nurse - best decision I ever made. I work in the OR and absolutely love it.
Great profession - can work anywhere and if you get burnt out on the floor you can work in another area.
Go for it.

Hello everyone. My name is Eric, and I just want to introduce myself. I'm 27 and for a few years I've been very intrested in the medical field; and have recently decided to become a nurse. I've never been to college, nor did I ever dream I would do something like this. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting in over my head, but then I think of all the great stuff I could do as a nurse. I love to help people, and I love to serve a greater good, so I think I will enjoy it, but does the training and education that you need ever get extremely tough? I consider myself a smart guy, but I'm no genious. How did you guys feel when you went through training? :33:
Thanks.

Hi, Eric! Glad to have you on board.
Yeah, things can get tough, but...I am positive you can do it. Besides, you know you can always drop by and get the support you need.
At times, I'd wonder what the heck I got myself into; but then again, I'd been an LPN first.
