Watts School of Nursing's (WSON) fall 2007 and spring 2008 classes both achieved 100 percent passage on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

According to the North Carolina Board of Nursing, in 2007, the average passing rate on the test was 87 percent nationally and 89 percent in North Carolina. WSON, celebrating 113 years of continued excellence in nursing education, recently moved to a new location at 2828 Croasdaile Drive in Durham. WSON is a two-year, hospital-based diploma program offering students extensive hands-on experience, small class size and a strong theoretical knowledge base. The school continues to emphasize this hands-on, hospital-based education at Durham Regional Hospital.
