Typical Routine and Tips for New Nurse

    Hello,
I graduated nursing school in 2003 and looked high and low for a sample routine of the typical nurse's day! Later, I went back and wrote one myself. Hope this helps (the typical routine is located at the end of the general tips).

    How great is that!
I've been in nursing for 30+ years and I couldn't explain it as well as you have.

I want to share what you wrote with all our new grads this summer -- is there someplace where I can get the appropriate permission to have it reprinted?

    You go girl!

i have been a nurse for 30 yrs and i enjoyed and agreed with all said one thing i would add when i make rounds the first thing i note if my iv bags are running low (they will not usually pass tat on in report) and jot down about what time i can expct them to run out with a little cushion example if there is 150 left in a 100 per hr bag at 8 i plan to hang the new bag with my 9 o clock meds families freak ot when the bags get low and this eases thier peace of mind.
Also I try to comment on things the pt has in the room card flowers who sent them etc it helps you get to personalize the pt even the more difficult ones
