#1. Depends on which part of Texas you're in. Rural areas will pay a lot less than positions in bigger cities. I'd check the local papers in places you are interested in.
Regardless, you'll earn a lot more than if you were flipping burgers. Most nurses can support themselves and if needed a family on what nursing pays.
#2. Most jobs have some form of tuition reimbursement, especially hospitals that are short on nurses. The catch is most require you to work for them after you graduate.
Just my two cents, if you want to go into nursing, why go through the hell of nursing school twice.
Get your RN and be done with it.
