Kay Carnegie, RN, MS, of Salem has been confirmed by the state Senate as a member of the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Her three-year term will begin Jan. 1.

Carnegie replaces Saundra Theis of Ashland in the nurse-educator position on the board. Carnegie has about 30 years of nursing experience and is the associate dean of health sciences at Chemeketa Community College. She has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., and a master's degree from the University of Portland.
