Hi,
I have been monitored now for 7 months in TX and it really hasn't been hard for any of you that are facing stipulations. I was also in TPAPN over 10 years ago, and being monitored by the board, in my opinion is so much easier. I have been sober for 3 years now, and knew I would die if I didn't get help. My case stayed active at the board for almost 5 years before it was settled, and the not knowing was harder by far, than the stipulations itself. If any one has any questions for me, pls feel free to ask. Also, if anyone needs a fantastic attorney in Austin, I will be glad to give you the name of mine!

That sounds like a great program in NY we have a program called the professional assistance program (PAP) they helped me get my license back with stipulations and close monitoring including urine screenings. I believe that this program helped me to stay clean because I needed close monitoring at the time. it started a 4 screenings a month and is now down to two. i has been a year and a half since I hooked up with them but it has been 2 and a half years since i used drugs.I was fortunate and i voluntarily handed in my LPN license.I recommend anybody who has this problem to contact their state to see if they have this program.
I also am in TX and will be undergoing monitoring. I have many questions. I am new to this forum so do not know how to get a message directly to you. Please let me know how to get a hold of you.
Thank you!

Hi, I'm new to this site and yes, I have MANY questions! I graduated as a GVN in May of 2009 and had to wait on the Board in Texas to make a decision on my declaratory order. By the end of summer, I had their offer and I accepted. After an additional 2 months of trying to find out where my ATT was I finally scheduled my boards for middle of October, only 2 weeks after getting my ATT. So here I am now, almost 5 months later still looking for work. I have had numerous interviews and not only am I not offered employment, I never even hear back from employers despite attempts to follow up after interviews. Recently, the director of the nursing program at the school I attended made a personal call to a contact, a nurse recruiter at a nearby hospital. Despite a letter of recommendation from him as well as 2 instructors and the fact I did everything asked of me by this company, my application was still not even considered for an interview! I am losing hope here. I'm a single mother of two and the only thing keeping me together is support from my family and friends. I have stips on my license that expire 24 months after I find and hold employment. Can't work PRN or home health, must work a minimum # of hours per month, RN on premises during my shift (doesn't have to be same unit), and report to Board every few months regarding my progress. That's it. I had no drug or alcohol problems. I don't understand it. And with the way nurses can jump from one job to another, it seems as though my stips would be a positive in the sense that the employer knows I will be there for AT LEAST 2 years and will stay on top of my game. I feel like I will NEVER get a job! Does anyone have a similar story and has it had positive outsomes? I have been networking my @$$ off...doing everything I can think of. Any ideas?
