Just a warning to Traveler Searching for Jobs....
Many of the job postings over the Internet are either old or phony.

Companies use them as bait and switch to get you to fill out there application burning up alot of your time then saying Oh that one was filled
but I have another one......

They'll also say "They go quickly so you need to fill out an application first"

One Company RNTravelweb has spammed all the free online job boards listing tons of jobs and each one at the bottom they put every possible specialty abbreviation.Core Medical does that too.

Aaaah That IRKS me!!

If there is no date and specific details it probably is old or phony.

I've seen job postings on different Travel Nurse Companies websites that had not changed in 2 years.

I say if you're gonna have a job board on your website......

Keep it up to Date!! OR Take it Off!

Best thing is to find a few good recruiters from different companies who are straight shooters and will keep you up to date with assignment possibilities and you are comfortable in working with them.

fwiw, it's really hard to keep job postings up to date as fast as they change, especially if a company has thousands of positions.

It's likely that the postings are sent out to other job posting sites for maximum exposure and they are set to expire after a set number of days, say 30, 60, or 90, and the job may very well expire or get filled in that time period and the company has no control over their jobs once posted on third party sites.

You are right though, that some companies do this on purpose. It's just like when a realtor sells a property but leaves the sign out and doesn't put sold on it. They just want to get someone to call them so they can get their information.

But I do understand how jobs that expire can stay out there. It happens on this site too. If you search for a job that's posted in the forums here, sometimes when you click on the link and arrive at the job board, the job will have already expired. There's really nothing I or the company can do about it. There are too many jobs for me to keep track of, and for the companies they probably have too many jobs posted on too many sites to keep track of as well.

The best solution I have come up with is that for the companies that do bulk job postings here, when they add a new batch of jobs, it replaces all of the old jobs so they no longer show.

As far as rntravelweb, I think they are just a third party job board. They are getting the jobs from other sites posted on their site and then using those to post on other boards so they definitely are doing it to get website traffic.

Thanks for the post btw! I appreciate you taking the time and effort to post here to help others along their way!

Let me know if there's ever anything I can do to help!
