I graduated from school last Sept. and have been working for a GI doc in an office. We have just recently started using electronic medical records (EMR) and our office manager (which is an RN) has told us that we are NOT allowed to write the rx on the EMR, for our doc's to electronically sign. She has told us that it is against the law for us to write the rx. Now, I'm not signing the rx just writing out the meds, directions for taking it, amount and any refills. My Doc can cancel this rx at any time. Know I live in Georgia and am not sure of the law on this, can anyone direct me on were I can go to get more info. I don't want to lose my license, to make my doc's life easier.
