Hi everyone.... My name is Dawn and I am just starting my Nursing education. I am almost a CNA and will be entering an LPN program in August. My goal is to become an RN/BSN. I'm starting in an LPN program because the waiting lists for RN are crazy in my area!! I am also starting a bit later in life so that is the route that best works for me.
Have a great day and I look forward to getting to know you and all this website has to offer. :cool-nurse:
Hello Dawn,
I'm a South Jersey person :) Bout 30 minutes from Philly.
Wish at times I had done CNA before my nursing program. It would have saved me a lot of fumbling in clinicals :(
You need to take what programs are available. My two cents to you would be start the RN programs as soon as you can after you complete your LPN. (Maybe you'll be higher on the waiting list by then . . . )
The LPN will get you working and put a paycheck in your pocket, for most these days that is the most important thing.
Lots of info online for LPNs:

Hope your nursing program goes smoothly . . . .
Hope that is helpful.

Also we have a large section in this forum for LPNs/LVNs.
