    question about HHA

    Hi every one.

Can a HHA appoint a per diem Director of nursing or should it have to be a full time as per condition of participation? I am not very clear about it.
    Thanks

    Hi Nursequeen,

I'd like to help but don't really understand the question. First of all, acronyms can vary a lot so, to me, HHA stands for home health aid and clearly that's not what you're talking about. What do you mean by "HHA"? Secondly, I don't believe there can be a perdiem director of anything. Appointed or not, this is a full time position. I have worked in facilities where there are part time nursing supervisors who support unit charge nurses but this role as such, has no administrative policy making power. These nurses oversee facility wide operations and do such things as manage the transfer of patients, call in the echo tech or OR team and get supplies during off hours. A lot of work for a little money...

Did I hit on anything useful?
