Congrats to you all! Marietta Daily Journal - Students transition to nursing program

The North Metro Technical College Practical Nursing Program conducted a "capping" ceremony for the newest class of 43 practical nursing students on April 23.

The ceremony is conducted to honor those students who successfully made the transition from being a prerequisite student to a student nurse in the highly competitive practical nursing program. The student's focus will now solely be on nursing education and training.

The cap's design was selected by North Metro Tech's first nursing class who added a blue band to signify the school's color. These caps will be used for the remainder of the students' careers. Throughout history, all nursing schools have had their own distinct cap and a student's school of nursing could be identified by the cap they wore.

Receiving caps at the ceremony were Cobb residents Chelsea Atherton, Olubunmi Bohanmayo, Nikki Carroll, Angela Carrozza, Caitlin Champion, Kathy Isaksson, Maytal Kaiser, Leeora Massengill, John Newby, Tabitha Nyaga, Whitney Peterson, Sartoria Sanders, Jeanne Shirley, Tiffany Wilson and Sonya Yarbrough.
