Nursing Students Graduate with help of TAA Program - KAIT-Jonesboro, AR-News, weather, sports, classifieds-

For the last three years, Batesville has lost 600 jobs due to plant closures like GDX and White Rogers.

But with the help of a federal program, some once out of work employees are furthering their education to get back in the workforce. 10 students in the TAA program at the university of Arkansas Community College of Batesville, graduate from the nursing program.

Now looking back, Cathy Biggers says losing her job was a blessing in disguise.

"This is a dream for everyone, because there were a lot of us that couldn't have gone back to school and this was an opportunity that we couldn't pass up."
