    BS-To-BSN Programs, Options

    Hi,

I am 28, male, and I am looking into nursing. I was an EMT-B for two years and a medical librarian at a medical school for two years after that. I have a BS in Environmental Science from a very good liberal arts college in New England. I got good grades. I applied to a accelerated BSN program in 2002 and got in with no pre-requirements. But I put it off and traveled instead.

Now, I am looking at nursing again. I have been looking into BS-To-BSN programs. However, I do have some pre-requirements to take care of that would allow me to get into most accelerated programs. Things have changed a bit since 2002. Are there any post-baccalaureate pre-nursing programs that would allow you to do the prereqs and then allow you to transfer into their nursing program to get a BSN? Does anyone know any websites that would provide more detailed info on BS-To-BSN programs besides discovernursing.com or allnursing.com? So many of the pre-requirements seem to be different for each program. Are there any programs that would allow me to apply directly into a BSN program and allow me to do all my studies there in one place.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Greg

    BSTOBSN,
I am in a program at the University of Pennsylvania that sounds like it might be for you. I know there are several in the Philadelphia area with varying levels of prereqs. Here at Penn there is a program for people who have no science or healthcare background at all. You can come in with any degree and graduate with a BSN or MSN or PhD for that matter all from one place. The website is www.nursing.upenn.edu.
