Exclamation I'm thinking about becoming a nurse.

But I am squeamish. Not alot, but the idea of having to assist with surgery's frightens me. Is there a kind of nurse that doesn't have to do this? I could dress wounds, ect perfectly fine. Blood doesn't bother me. It's just, you know, organs and the such.

You don't need to work in the OR, but you will need to be able to deal with blood, urine, vomit, feces, etc. Dressing wounds can involve viewing muscle tissue, fatty tissue, bone, etc... Nursing is not the best field for the squeamish.

Well i'm fine with all that. I can dress wounds, deal with yucky infections, blood, urine, feces, vomit, and the like. It's just, like watching surgery on tv with all the inside parts that makes me squeamish. I could stand, like you said, dealing with seeing muscles, its just the organs I cant. I could you even like put in IVs' and stuff like that. But when it comes to organs and stuff it frightens me.
