FYI: Rutgers University announces plans to create nursing school at Camden campus - NJ.com

Rutgers President Richard L. McCormick said the university plans to create a school of nursing at its Camden campus.

The proposal for Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden will go before the Rutgers Board of Governors, New Jersey Presidents' Council and New Jersey Commission on Higher Education this fall.

Rutgers-Camden currently offers a nursing major through the College of Arts of Sciences.

In today's announcement, the university said the new school will address the increasing demand for a bachelor's degree nursing education in southern New Jersey through expanded enrollment of 300 pre-licensure students and 45 registered nurse students over a six-year period.
