Today I learned from the instructor of a local CNA class that local hospitals are no longer hiring CNAs; they are working primarily in elderly and long-term care facilities.

I was thinking about taking a CNA class in the Spring to gain some recent in-hospital work experience to get my foot in the door as a someday new RN grad (that is *if* the lottery doesn't select me for nursing school this Spring) - but now I'll probably shelve the CNA idea.

Just wondering when this changed occurred and why?
