Apollo College Reno, a nursing college, will have a grand opening, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments and tours of its new campus, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m on Wednesday.

Located at 5580 S. Kietzke Lane, the school offers an associate of science degree in nursing. It can accommodate up to 250 nursing students and features a library, student lounges, computer labs and a simulation lab, which are replica hospital rooms for training.

Apollo welcomed its first students to the new 15,000-square-foot campus on Aug. 31. The school will continue to accept applications until Dec. 15 for its next semester, which will begin Jan. 4.

Some of Apollo’s classes will be available online in conjunction with on-campus courses, and financial aid is available for qualified students.
