Hi, Alexia, and welcome to the site! I hope you don't mind that I moved your post.

As to how long it takes to become a CNA depends on where you take the classes. It could be a month or two, and you'll get Clinical training, also.

    Hope to see you often!

I agree with courgarnurse...it is up to the facility/school to decide a CNA program length. Private schools and LTC facilities tend to have courses for a couple of weeks, while community colleges have longer programs which may take about 3 months to complete (a typical sememster).

i agree with AngelinnaS and cougarnurse to but mostly total of 120 hrs of instructions including 30 hrs of clinical training. I think that it amounts to about 4 weeks in school and 1 week in clinical if you are attending full time or about 8 weeks of you are attending on weekend

Totally depends on the program you are taking and if you are going full time or part time.

It depends on where you exist. Here, the nursing homes disburse for it, as well as test and you don't have to agree to work for them very long. It's a great, gratifying field to be in, as well.

On average CNA training should take between 6-12 weeks. Check out the American Red Cross. They have a good training program.

The average for most people is around 10 weeks, but it depends on your own personal circumstances, i.e. if you have family, a job, outside interests etc. I did mine full time, but I was sponsored by a nursing home originally to do it so they allowed me the time out, in return for a period of paid work afterwards.

Many places in the US offer classes for Certified Nursing Assistant. Before you become a full-fledged CNA, there are some state-approved program which you need to undertake. These programs are offered by community colleges or universities and the duration may vary from 5 to 10 weeks. After its completion, you may then go for a registered nurse associate degree, which is 2 years training program.
