    WAKE-UP!

Good morning peeps, hope all slept well. Well, some people will do anything to get some time off. DEC 7, I have scheduled L RTC repair. However, since this will be the third surgery on same shoulder since return from Iraq (JUN 08) I can tell you from experience post-op will be NO fun.

Anyway, y'all have a great day.

    Hey Soldier,
I worked on a great ortho floor and they did nerve blocks and PAIN BUSTER Ball/Pump SQ which has bupivicaine which last for 3 days. Then you pull it out and discard it. Patients loved it. They did not have to take narcotics.
    The shoulders are super painful..
    Ask the surgeon....

What bothers me is that there are pain relief rx available like the Pain Buster but for some reason, Md's won't/don't use them..
    I think they don't care.
Why have PAIN when you don't have to. Ok I'm done..

Wahoo! Someone else started the Daily Thread. Thank the powers that be! I turned over and went back to sleep.

What the heck is up with the shoulder screwing up, and what did you do to it this time? Housework?

I'd better get self in gear; told aunt I'd help her out today, so....until later!

Geez Cary! I guess the third time's a charm? Like Cat asked, what happened that you need to go again? My own RTC repair is still a fresh memory so I do sympathize. Good luck.

    Re: Wednesday, November 18, 2009

A few months back my left shoulder started bothering me (again). Believe it or not, the pain became more noticeable while doing push-ups. I'd thought it would have happened while lifting weights. I'd stopped lifting weights to focus on push-ups, sit-ups, and 2 mile run with a pending Army Physical Fitness Test around the corner To make a long story short MRI indicates a significant L RTC tear in the area of two previous repairs. So, DEC 7 I'm scheduled for L RTC repair, which will be the third procedure on same shoulder since my return from Iraq (JUN 2008).

What a bummer! I've ever so slowly added chest, shoulders and back into my weightliftiting routine again. I'm feeling pretty good about it too but after hearing your story, I'm reminded that I can never let my guard down because the fix can get broken again. I'll be thinking of you.

BTW, after putting it off as long as possible, my wife is scheduled for a R TKR on Dec. 2nd. I guess you don't have to be a senior citizen to get one of those, huh?
