    Best hospitals to work in

The branch assignments officer has given me the choice of going to Ft. Hood or Ft. Gordon. Which would be a better starting place for a new nurse interested in critical care?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with DAMC or EAMC. I can tell you about BAMC & MAMC, as well as about deployment with 31st CSH.

BTW, have you been to the 8A course? If not, then most likely you will not work in critical care. Are they still doing the one year orientation for those new to nursing? If so, and your a new grad you would definitely not work in critical care during orientation. After one year of working medsurg you could request the 8A course, which would get you the critical care ASI.
