Hello to all. I have a friend who just e-mailed me earlier today. She had a question. A friend of hers worked in one state for all her career and then decided to work as a travelor. After working in another state for more than a year as a travelor, her friends license in her home state was revoked because of discplinary reasons that had occured before the friend decided to become a travelor. My friend stated that the license revocation was not due to criminal charges. I do not know any more details than this. My friend states that her friend's "record" as a travelor in the present state she is traveling in is flawless and she is in very good standing. Due to her friend's license being revoked in her home state, will it mean that her friend will be blackballed in the current state she is traveling in? Does it mean she will not be able to practice in any state?
I really have no clue what to tell her. I have never come across this before. My friend stated that her friend's license in the state she is traveling in is up for renewal in a couple of months.

It is my understanding, and I could be wrong, but with all of the nurses I have dealt with in the past, she shouldn't have a problem with her renewal in the state she is in now, as long as she just pays her fee before or on time.
As for the future of her getting licensed in another state, when applying they will check for verification in the state she is originally licensed in. If that is the state her licensed was revoked there will be some issues there, but it doesn't mean she can't get licensed from what I know.
The best reccomendation I can give you is to contact the state she was revoked in, and discuss it with them, and also maybe call a state board in another state, and discuss it with them, and then you can have a better ideal of what may occur during future application processes.
State Licenseure information is listed on our site, or let me know the state and I will just post it or send it to you.

If a License is revoked in any state your duty is to notify all BON's where you hold License of this. Better to be proactive than to find you are worse off not telling them and trying to hide it. This is called professional responsibility. Plus a Travel company will drop you like a hot potato when they find out.:o
Everytime I've gotten a license for another state they have required verification from my original state of licensure. I think whether she can continue practicing in other states will depend on why her license was revoked.
