    RN coder/auditor??

Hello all!! I am thinking about taking an coding/auditing course to do coding at home. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. I am an RN and I do chart review and QA where I work, when needed, but I am a charge RN on our medsurg and peds floor. I guess I just want to know if there are jobs out there for this type of RN!!

you will be paid what a coder makes if you want to work from home. I currently perform RN chart reviews as well and looked into it. So, if you are looking to do it from home you will be taking a salary cut. Look into clinical documentation specialist at your local hospitals. Decent salary...if you are looking for a slower paced position. I am close to Phila and the city hospitals are starting off around 70k for the clinical doc specialist. If I wasn't going for my MSN now I would have probably gone that route.
