I will soon be moving to the sunshine from Rhode Island, the most corrupt state. I have a complicated history and i'm considering contacting the florida board to set up a meeting and fly down to present my application in person. I want to see their faces and I want them to see mine.
Could someone who is familiar with them tell me if this is a good or bad idea?

I know. I can't function if I don't have a plan. I haven't had a seizure since sept 2008. As far as working as a nurse in Florida,it isn't contingent for moving there. I need a fresh start. I have a very close family. However, the love of my life is my 10 year old little girl,Sara.
If I find myself in a huge pitty party mood and think "look what I did to my life,if I only did this or that" I have to think of Sara.
The summer before my senior year in college I was assaulted in downtown Providence. Both the police detective and the trauma Doc told me to get psych support and a victim support group. I went once and never returned and that is the difining moment that changed the entire course of my life. I was 25 when I started to self medicate.I didn't know I was in trouble until my last semester in nursing school. It was during my psych rotation when I found out. I noticed I had alot of the same symptoms as my patients. I managed to graduate but I moved out of state and never took my boards.I moved to the midwest and stayed with relatives, got a job waitressing and pulled myself together. I met Sara's father, and moved to California, where we lived for 2 years. I got pregnant,he found his soulmate who went back to her soulmate about a month after I moved back home. I was so happy about the baby but terrified because I was out of college for four years with a bsn with no license. I thought I had a better shot winning the lottery than passing my boards but I passed with flying colors. I was happy. I had a beautiful baby, got a great job in a hospital and all was right with my world for about 6 mo. It all came back to me. It was time to deal with my past. Sara would not be here if things didn't happen the way they did.
