Hello everyone, my name is Latoya and I am a new RN! I just received my license # so I am looking for employment. I didn't realize how there are sooooooooooooo many jobs but none of them want New RN lol! Almost all of the positions I have came across want at least 6 months to a year of experience so I have listed myself with a couple of agencies hoping that they accept new RNs otherwise I will have to wait until the new internships open up in May. Let me know gals and guys if you have any suggestions. Thanks

Welcome to the site, Latoya!

Re: jobs.....take a look at our job listings when you can. Maybe that will help some?

Here's looking forward to many of your future posts.

Yea I tried both and was told that they are not doing internships for new RNs until May sometime so all other positions must have 1 year experience which sucks but I mean if there is 20 unemployed nurses and 10 of those have the experience then I am out of another opportunity but I will get my chance soon I can feel it!

Hey Toya,
Did you check out the hopsitals in St. Pete also? I am from down there and I know that they are building or are almost finished building All Childrens and they always have New Grad Internships.....so look into that route if you like kids....! Also there are other hopsitals around the area like Brandon, Sarasota and Lakeland that may also be hiring new grads. Don't give up and keep praying it will happen.

Thanks! I have not tried the All Childrens hospital so i will call them, also I checked with Brandon and they are not willing to hire new grads right now either. I have looked online and all the positions are 6 months to a year experience unless you go through internships. So I guess I should just try calling the nurse recruiters and go from there. Thanks again I will get right on that and I'm not giving up I know my time is coming soon!
