Hi All,
What's up with nursing these days with FAMILY drama. had an experience last night, hated it. But,pretty much I give in to whatever they want. It must be some control thing they have.
Anyway, it is sunny and 70, so that is why I'm in Florida for the season, so will delete the negative at work...

The family controls everything because the employer doesn't care to back up the nurses. Problem with that is the more they control, the less paycheck I end up with because I have to draw the line somewhere. So, intact license, no job. Family gloats over another nurse gone!

Then again, it is THEIR house. One of my old agencies made SURE we knew that, and it is in their handbook to boot.

When someone curses at me in languages other than English and yells at me saying they are going to refuse to sign my time sheet it is time for me to leave, whether or not I've been physically assaulted or threatened. You would think that people who make their living off the government money paid for the patient's care would be a little more concerned with keeping that gravy train moving. How strange that when the patient leaves an institution and comes home for care, all adults in the family find the need to quit any jobs they may have had and spend their days and nights hanging around the house. It affects their behavior, I'm sure.
