Hi, I am really new to this. I am considering travel nursing as I cannot currently make it on the pay I get at my current job. How do I choose a company? Do I have the right to tell them exactly what I am looking for?
Any advice will be helpful, I'm sure. Also any companies that you would recommend staying away from.
Thanks.

You can be as specific as you want! I told them I wanted to be close to my home so I can come back in between shifts. You can tell them the state you want to go visit, the shift you want, etc and if it's available they'll try to get it for you. If they don't, then get another company. Remember, we're their bread and butter too! If they don't get the nurses, their company goes belly up.

Check the REVIEWS tab top of this page and check Travel Companies ratings by travel nurses. Better are RN Network, Clinical ONe, Medical Solutions, Nurses in Partnership, Cirrus, etc. I would check their websites and job posting board to see what jobs are available for your specialty and what area might interest you. THen call a recruiter, and, once you discuss a job they will let you know the shift, $, and hospital requirements.
Housing is free, but, if you take the monthly housing stipend and find your own place then you can pocket the left over rent $. Jobs hae been tight past 18 months, and higher competition, but things are getting better. Meanwhile, talk to a few companies and even sign on with them this way you will have more choices of jobs and able to keep traveling.
ASK a million questions, too...If you want a recruiter, private message me.

Thanks, for all of the info. I am currently overwhelmed with everything.
What are your thoughts about Right Solutions, Travel Nurse Solutions, and
Axis Nurse? Any information would be helpful?
Thanks.
